About the Author

Len Eiserer
Len in 1976, described by one reviewer as “looking like the most benevolent of scarecrows.”

Len Eiserer received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and doctorate in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College. He’s taught for 40 years and, at the age of 76, still teaches part-time. Len has conducted extensive research on both imprinting in ducklings and the communal roosting habits of the American Robin. His book on robins was the first extensive description of this species’ life cycle and has for decades been considered “definitive.” Len also enjoys community service, traveling, golf, and collecting information on the significant trees of Lancaster County (PA). He currently serves on the boards of both the Tanger and the Kaneko Arboretums. He and his wife Pat Lemay met on a blind date in college and have been married for 52 years.
